What a busy day yesterday was. I fell asleep as soon, as I got into bed, without even writing down all the things that happened. First off the airport was kind of fun as Delta and Hartsfield have a nifty new checking in section, and it seems a lot easier once people get used to it. Then I had a terrible mocha from Starbucks in the airport, must remember it is Lent, though, I am breaking it this weekend…Then a 5 hour flight to San Francisco.
My first impressions were it is a pretty city, hills, sea and cute houses, but not as pretty as Cape Town, which although I never want to live there, I still think is the most beautiful city in the world. Matthew and I then went and got car, went to the hotel and checked in, and famished went to eat at a place called the Elephant Bar. We then got in the car and drove to downtown San Francisco!
Wow, it is lovely, all the cute Victorian Houses, the trams and trollies, the quirky stores, the big financial district. We drove up Market Street and eventually found our way to the Haight area, and all was lost. First off I went into the John Fluevog Store and then Amoeba. It was dark when we left…
We then drove across the Bay Bridge so I could see the Bay and all the lights, and I was suitably impressed by the lights and Bay and tankers!
We then went back to the hotel and collapsed. Up early this morning for a breakfast in the Hotel and then we are off to the BART and to explore San Francsico.
